Blackheads amongst teenagers and those in early menstruation phase is a common thing. Blackheads are open skin pores which get clogged with dead skin and oil and start showing in the form of blemishes on face, more commonly around the nose. Because of the position of nose, which is right at the centre, it draws more attention and hence makes the person suffering conscious.
Use Cinnamon: Cinnamon is an aromatic, anti-bacterial spice which helps in getting rid of black heads. Make a face mask for daily use as follows: Mix cinnamon & honey in 2:1 proportion to make a smooth paste. Apply in on the blackheads affected area and leave for 15-20 minutes. Was with a mild face cleanser, dab your skin dry and apply moisturizer. As you’re required to apply it for several days to get best results, you may prepare and refrigerate the mask-paste for 2-3 days.
Use Oatmeal: Oatmeal is an absolute soother! Plus it helps you get rid of dead cells, absorbs excess oil from oily skin, improves and clears complexion. Boil oatmeal in clean water and allow it to cool. Apply on blackheads, leave to dry for 10-20 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat for several days.
Use SendhaNamak or Epson Salt: Epson salt is very effective remedy as it can pull out dirt from the pores of your skin. Before using Sendhava salt exfoliate dead skin from around the blackheads area. Heat one tea spoon of Epson salt, a few drops of iodine and half a cup water and stir until everything completely dissolves. When the mixture cools apply it on black head affected area. When dry wash it with lukewarm water and pat dry. Use as often as you want. Twice or thrice a day also is okay.
Use Baking Soda: Baking soda is an antiseptic which helps get rid of blackheads. Make a paste preferably in glass or ceramic bowl by mixing (very little) water and baking soda. Apply this paste on blackheads and leave it for about ten minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Once or twice a week is ideal. It helps you get rid of all the dirt that gets stuck in the pores of your facial skin.
Use Lemon Juice: Lemon juice contains alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) which helps to remove dead skin, and is a perfect solution for unstopping clogged pores. Vitamin C, which is an anti-oxidant, that lemon juice contains, stimulates collagen production; which reduces blemishes, acne scars, thus improving overall skin health. You can make this a part of your everyday routine.
Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice and apply it on the affected area and leave it for 20 minutes or so, rinse with cold water, dab gently to dry your skin. You can even leave the juice on affected area overnight if you wish.
Use of Green Tea/ Bags is also supposed to help with blackhead removal. Green tea is full of vitamins and anti-oxidants which help to control excess oil and inflammation on skins that are prone to acne.
Use Honey: It is anti-bacterial & antiseptic and good for acne and blemishes, provided the user does not have honey allergy. Warm honey and dab it on affected area. Let it remain there for about 20 minutes and gently wipe the same with damp/wet piece of soft/muslin cloth. You can leave honey on your skin overnight. Don’t heat honey directly on fire. Boil water and place bowl of honey in it.
