Education
Education is important as it shapes the society. Vishwa, as part of its endevour to build a healthier and happier society has been supporting and sponsoring education institutes in various ways. In Shivpuri, Vishwa has been running the Shree Sharadamata High School for the last 30 years. We recently started another branch of our school in a small village, located in a remote area. Besides, we sponsors & supports education programs in schools in other parts of India as well.
Shree Sharadamata School was started in the year 1988. It runs on the philosophy of holistic learning and teachings of Shree.
Sharadamata School is a unique school that aims at providing wholesome education to its pupil. Students are taught the principles of the timeless wisdom along with modern education and environmental awareness. The students have shown encouraging signs of overall development by excelling in various cultural, educational and sports meets every year.
The school has many first-generation learners from the neighboring villages including children of farmers and day laborers, who otherwise had no access to quality education. Students are either imparted education free of cost or are charged a very minimal fee. Vishwa Foundation provides learning material and other school supplies free of cost to underprivileged children.
Most of the schools we are associated with, facilitate education for the underprivileged children. These schools are run by Vishwa volunteers and are doing pioneering work in creating educational opportunities for the children living in nearby areas. As many as 15,000 children are being provided education by these schools. While many schools offer education till the high school level, some of the educational institutes also facilitate college level education and vocational training centers.
Many of the teachers working in these schools are concerned thoughtful citizens who’ve volunteered to do so. Some of the teachers are also ex-students who want to give back to the society.
Enviroment
As part of our commitment to a more sustainable tomorrow, since 2009, Vishwa has planted more than 1.2 million trees in and around Shivpuri in a very organized and thoughtful manner. The area of Akkalkot is relatively dry and arid. The tree population of this region is very low. Vishwa has done pioneering work in planting trees that not only provides shade, but also acts as oxygen banks and carbon depositories. The big trees help stop soil erosion and promote water retention. More than 80 rare Ayurveda herbs are also cultivated in Shivpuri. Identification and information sign boards have been placed with each tree.
Healthcare
Vishwa provides financial assistance to patients in need. We are associated with hospitals in many cities that send us details of patients who need medical attention but can’t afford it. We get in touch with the family or friends of such patients and offer them with financial aid to undergo the required medical procedure or care. Many organizations are also linked with us who send notifications as and when they have a case where finance is required for continuing medical care for the patient. We have created a special fund that is collected from donations and is also subsidized through the money generated through the wellness retreats.
Every year we arrange multi-specialty health camps in Vishwa Wellness Center, that include blood donation camps, health awareness weeks, etc.
Medical experts from various parts across the world participate in this endeavor by offering health care , advice, and treatments to the underprivileged. Experts provide their services free of charge in these camps.
People from across India, come to avail of the health care benefits offered in these camps. It is a unique place as experts from diverse fields and nationalities work side by side to offer their expertise and guidance to people in distress.
So far between 80,000-1,00,000 people have attended and benefited from these camps organized every year.
We run a daily OPD at the Vishwa Wellness Center, where consultations and medications are either provided at low cost or where the patient cannot afford it, completely free.
Our OPD has so far been attended by more than 3,00,000 people in the last 35 years
Rural Development
We started our rural development, women entrepreneurship program in 1982. Since then hundreds of families have benefitted from this activity. The main beneficiaries of this activity are destitute women. Many women who are part of our project are the sole bread earners of their households. Vishwa’s project gives them a opportunity to self-reliant and support their families. The produce made by the projects is sold through our shops in the Ashram and also through our online portal.
We have also been able to market these products internationally through the network of Agnihotra performers. Today, the products made by Vishwa’s Rural Development project are sold in 16 countries worldwide.
Every time you are buying our product you are putting a smile on the face of hundreds of families.
