Be it any age, gaining weight leads to medical issues sooner than later. And by the time we realise that weight gain is showing body has already taken to this tendency. It’s late already and we try put brakes and bring in control rules but there seems little stopping. The first and easy step to start with is to increase your physical moment and activity and cut unhealthy fatty, oily, sugary food and drinks.
For those in mid to late twenties need to be extra careful because body tends to shift gear around this and time that is why one gains weight and notices an increased waist line. In fact in the beginning it happens so silently and smoothly that one doesn’t take it as an alarm. Also one is so fit at that stage that s/he is not able to see the consequences few years ahead. But the truth is that if you ignore the weight gain in your mid twenties, it could lead to serious health implications and may influence your chances of developing many diseases.
The best way to keep health under check is to start being more careful as you turn 21 irrespective of gender. Check weight according to your height. If you weigh right or nearly right for your height and age start looking at what you eat, exercise and maintain; this physical fitness and health will take you through many years disease free.
If you don’t keep your weight under check, are haywire with your lifestyle, have got used to wrong food and exercise routines you will soon see yourself being a victim of sick body, suffering conditions of cardiovascular nature, heart attack, strokes, arthritis, diabetes, cancer, infertility, cataract, asthma, gallstones, snoring, sleeplessness, etc.
It has been observed that weight gain begins slowly, steadily and silently in the age range of 18 to 48 during these years an individual gains anywhere between half to two pounds each year. This is the reason emphasis is on controlling the epidemic in its early years to stop and prevent weight. For those of us who don’t control it, body’s adapts the tendency to gain weight which increases one’s chances of developing multiple chronic diseases.
For people in 50s or above who’ve gained 11 to 22 pounds after turning 20 are at an increased risk of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and gallstones as compared to men and women who gained five pounds or fewer. For women who gain weight around menopause are at a higher risk of being affected with one or more of the abovementioned diseases.
Keeping the above facts in mind it is advised to keep weight under check as you turn 21.
